The FuBars committee would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Tug and Rusty for being instrumental in the establishment of this club. Occupying inaugural positions on the committee of a new rugby club is no easy task, but their contributions were significant and vital throughout. They are stepping aside to allow others to come forward, and move the club in to the next phase. We will give them both a proper thank you at the dinner night on 6th June.
N.b. Any club member with up-to-date membership payment can nominate themselves for any committee position.
The nomination window is open now and will close at 9am on 20th May.
Nominate yourself here: Committee Nomination Form
Nominations will then communicated via email and a voting round will start (21-30th May)
Note: votes will be weighted in favour of playing members, therefore playing members are strongly encouraged to apply. However, non-playing members can of course nominate themselves per any other member.
Eligibility: only paid members of the club can nominate themselves for a position.
In the event of tied votes for any position, the decision will sit with the outgoing committee member and the President. Results will be announced at the annual dinner.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Committee positions are fundamental roles for the management of the club.
The committee operates extremely flexibly to allow for job/family/life balance, with committee members stepping up to backfill other members who may need to take some time out for extended periods.
But, while flexibility is a key feature, it it not an excuse to do nothing. If you are on the committee you will be expected to contribute to the running of the club, however small that contribution may be, dependent on circumstances.
If you feel you are able and willing to help take the club forward into the next phase, put your name forward. If you need further details on any position, contact Hugh directly.
You can nominate yourself at this link: Committee Nomination Form
Thank you.
