A huge congratulations to all players who turned out last week to play a long overdue 15s match to secure Victory in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Our opponents were Shottery RFC – a home club to some of our members, the fixture organised by QM Martyn Bodie. Facing off at Stratford RFC’s ground in Warwickshire, Shottery proved to be very well matched opposition and put up a very challenging defense against a mixture of Fubars originals, new Fubars, and two players from our home club Old Leamingtonians.
The match came down to a nailbiting few mins, but we came away with a very well deserved Victory.

The weekend before this match also saw our club turn out for a touch rugby tournament in at Porth RFC in South Wales – although rained off by a vicious thunderstorm in the closing stages, we finished tied place for the Plate. Achieved through a mixture of Fubars players and Porth players to form a rag tag side at what started as a fun day out, but ended with practically swimming to the clubhouse after helping rescue tentage from the festival stands that hadn’t yet been ripped apart. One good outcome – we picked up some new members for the club, local veterans who have now signed up and will hopefully be at our next match. Thank you to Dave Downes for squaring this event away!
